Parklife Perth Review

DSC00125

As I walked through Wellington Square I noticed it was decisively louder and a lot more crowded than my usual Sunday strolls. I lined up to use a toilet and a passing group of oiled up, shirtless men were kind enough to inform me the reason for the crowds was the 2009 Parklife festival.

Busy P reveals Parklife stage line-up

Worried about missing your favourite acts at Parklife due to clashes in the extremely jam packed roster of artists? Well some of that worry should be subdued due to French record label boss, DJ and unofficial sexiest man alive, Busy P, revealing some of the acts who will playing on his stage. Buried in an ITM interview, which was focused on Busy P’s role as MC at Parklife, was this interesting quote “It’s going to be good because on my stage I know a lot of the artists like Erol [Alkan], Tiga and Empire Of The Sun, so there will be a friendly vibe.” So one stage (quite possibly the main stage) will feature Busy P (as a DJ and also MCing between sets), Erol Alkan, Tiga and Empire of the Sun. At Heads Will Roll our biggest fear was the potential clash between Erol Alkan and Tiga so jumping in the air is definitely warranted. If you haven’t purchased your tickets to this event already it’s strongly advised that you act quick as first release have long sold out.

What’s that sound? It’s the sound of Shoes!

The weekend is drawing closer and Tiga wants you all to go out and have some hedonistic fun. The film clip for his latest song Shoes has been released and it works brilliantly with the song, it’s absurd and ridiculous and at Heads Will Roll we just can’t get enough.

This weekend there are a few fun ways you can burn off that Easter chocolate. This Friday Easy Tiger are bringing Designer Drugs all the way from NYC to play at Shape. All the info can be found in our handy What’s On? post here. Saturday we suggest staying at Shape for Shazam’s single launch. The man himself will be playing along with Jamie Doom and Gus Hoodrat from Bang Gang. All the info is one click away, here. However if you’re all Shaped out you could try venturing to Sexy. Sexy is a new event being held at Republic. Republic , if you didn’t know, is positioned on Shafto lane, down the Wellington Street end, and when it’s not featuring bands and DJs it’s a male strip club. The place has a sheep shearing shed vibe, and if that’s not enough to get you in the mood, it also features some fairly decent tunes and after a few drinks the dance floor stays packed.

Till next time,

Heads Will Roll.
